I'm fairly certain this hasn't been the case until recent years post SAO and the popularisation of Isekai anime. Perhaps this is just me but honestly  fantasy anime ,even the Non-Isekai ones seems to be using RPG language like "levels" "skills" "party/parties" "quests" and stuff like that everywhere and the world templates seem to be way too overdone with almost everything feeling one dimensional like a game

It's just people trend hopping.  SAO grossed a lot of views, and other anime's are hoping to get a piece of the pie.  They are hoping to gross large amounts of money by hopping on what was once a popular trend.  Same with webtoons as well.  A lot of villianess webtoons are reincarnated for revenge are popular rn, but not a lot of them have fresh ideas either.

Well the first season of SAO has been out since 2012 lol, those terms have been used for quite a while, and well I wont deny its becoming more frequent it's probably just due to the popularity right now. Same with the villainess genre.

Trends come
Trends go
Only based shows remain
That's why 2012 was when the golden era of anime came to an end and they started copying each other
